March 2021
Our March Scout outing was a stargazing trip to Cathedral Gorge State Park. There was a lot of snow, but the clouds departed Saturday night for our star party!
The snow was visible in the mountains as we drove north out of Las Vegas. The snow became thicker the closer to camp we got, but luckily the roads remained clear.
Enough snow had fallen at camp that we set our tents up on top of the snow. This was a first for me! With the help of a lots of blankets and Hot Hands, we managed to stay warm enough both nights.
We took a hike, mostly on along the roadway, since the snow was pretty deep. The trees, rock formations and water tower were beautiful in the snow!
