Spring Break looked a lot different this year, but we made the best of it. My daughter and I traveled east to Georgia, with a day trip to Tennessee, to visit friends and family. I did not get a picture of everyone we saw, but enjoyed time spent with loved ones.
Walking through Smith-Gilbert Gardens
My bestie and I visited the Smith-Gilbert Gardens. The waterfall was my favorite! Looking forward to going back with her this summer to see different flowers in bloom.
Heidi the Turtle
Heidi the turtle does not live at my house. She lives with my bestie’s daughter. Every time I visit, I love to see Heidi too! Heidi enjoyed a strawberry followed by a salad of greens.
Renaissance Park
Since our time was limited, my sister and her family met us half way in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Rain was in the forecast, so we decided on a picnic lunch at Renaissance Park. It has a covered picnic area that guaranteed a place we could eat outdoors. After lunch, we played Scooby-Doo: Betrayal at Mystery Mansion. It was a great, but short meet up. Looking forward to more time this summer!
Underwater Adventures at the Georgia Aquarium
We put on our facemasks for a visit to the Georgia Aquarium. My fascination with aquariums is not fulfilled by my home aquarium alone!
Sharks! Predators of the Deep
I LOVE sharks! This exhibit was awesome! The hammerheads were so cool to watch swim overhead.
River Scout
The alligators were touching tails overhead while we walked through the River Scout exhibit. The piranhas always look so calm when there is nothing to eat.
Cold Water Quest
The cold water area has lots of animals to see. The beluga whales looked like were dancing in the water. The baby beluga swimming by her mother’s side was fun to watch. The sea otters were swimming around in the water. The penguins were chilling out. One looked like he was imaging flying by the way he was on his belly.
Ocean Voyager
The whale sharks are amazing to see! This exhibit lets you stand on a moving side walk, so you can enjoy the fish swimming overhead without worrying about watching your step.
Tropical Diver
I found out I have a favorite eel, the garden eel!
Heading Home
We had a great Spring Break trip! But like all vacations, it had to come to an end. The view of the strip lit up when landing in Las Vegas makes me smile.
